Braves rally past Indians

SPIRIT LAKE – Cherokee surged past Spirit Lake with three runs in the top of the seventh as the Braves edged past the Indians 7-6 on Tuesday.

The Indians were limited to three hits on the night with Tony Eckert going 2-4 with two doubles and an RBI. Logan Backhaus was 1-3 with an RBI and Cory Meschede and Gavin Kramer each had an RBI.

Eckert pitched five innings and gave up four runs (one earned) on five hits with eight strikeouts and no walks. Logan Backhaus took the loss as he pitched one inning and gave up one run on one hit with two strikeouts and one walk. Gavin DeVos also pitched an inning and gave up two runs on one hit with one strikeout and one walk.
