North Union drops games to Mustangs, Chargers

SWEA CITY – North Union dropped a pair of games this past week, losing 9-8 to Newell-Fonda on Tuesday and 4-2 to Laurens-Marathon on Wednesday.

The Warriors struggled in the sixth inning against Newell-Fonda as they gave up eight runs. North Union tried to rally, but managed just five runs in the seventh.

Peyton Oleson took the loss as she gave up nine runs (five earned) on eight hits with six strikeouts and one walk.

At the plate, Autumn Boland was 2-3, Dena Looft was 2-4 and Erica Anderson was 2-3 with two doubles and two RBIs.

Sarah Rolling was 1-4 with a home run and two RBIs.

Anna Ingalls took the loss against Laurens-Marathon. She gave up two earned runs on three hits with two strikeouts and no walks. Oleson pitched five innings and gave up two earned runs on six hits with seven strikeouts and one walk.

North Union had just five hits. Dena Looft was 2-4 with two doubles and an RBI.
