Titans finish 0-2 on the week

RUTHVEN, ALTA – The Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire Baseball Team dropped a pair of games this past week. On Tuesday, the Titans fell 5-0 to Sioux Central and then on Thursday, lost 9-8 to Alta-Aurelia.

Justin Rodrigues pitched 4 1/3 innings against Sioux Central, giving up two runs (one earned) on one hit with six strikeouts and five walks. Andy Geelan pitched 2 2/3 innings and gave up three runs (two earned) on two hits with seven strikeouts and one walk.

The Titans finished with just two hits as Andrew Aeilts went 2-4. The Titans did draw five walks in the contest.

On Thursday, GT/RA led 8-6 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, but Alta-Aurelia scored three runs to rally for the victory.

Taylor Enderson pitched 6 1/3 innings and gave up six runs (four earned) on four hits with two strikeouts and two walks. Rodrigues pitched two-thirds of an inning and gave up two earned runs on one hit with two strikeouts and two walks. Geelan pitched a third of an inning and gave up one earned run on one hit.

The Titans finished with 12 hits with Aeilts having a big night as he went 4-4 with two RBIs. Michael Girres finished 2-4; Kyle Dalen was 1-1; Marcus Girres was 1-2 with three RBIs; Jake Wagner was 1-3 and Kodi Ferguson and Rodrigues each were 1-4. Alex Hoffman went 1-5.

The Titans (3-6 overall) are on the road today as they bake on Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley at a tournament in LeMars. GT/RA is at Everly for a doubleheader on Monday.
