Bulldogs sweep Midgets, 3-0

LE MARS – Estherville Lincoln Central didn’t have much success on its long road trip to LeMars on Tuesday as the Bulldogs swept ELC 3-0.

The closet game of the night was the first as ELC lost 25-19, 25-15, 25-13.

ELC had good serving from Kendall Evans and Molly Diekmann, who were both perfect in 11 and eight serves, respectively.

Lindsey Jensen and Diekmann led ELC with five kills apiece while Evans finished with 14 set assists.

Defensively, Jensen had 34 digs and Vanessa Woelber had 24.

In junior varsity play, ELC lost 25-14, 25-23 and the ELC freshman lost 32-20, 25-19.

ELC (4-7 overall, 0-1 in the Lakes Conference) is home tonight with a double dual against Emmetsburg and Western Christian, starting at 5 p.m.

The Estherville Lincoln Central freshman and junior varsity volleyball teams played Emmetsburg and Western Christian in a triangular at Emmetsburg on Monday.

The ELC freshman team lost 21-14, 21-10 to Western Christian and defeated Emmetsburg 17-21, 21-16, 15-13. The ELC JV lost 21-17, 21-12 to Western Christian and lost to Emmetsburg 10-21, 21-19, 15-8.
