Titans look for more against Mavs

GRAETTINGER – While Clay Central-Everly has had some success this season, Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire will still be the favorite as the titans go on the road against the Mavericks this Friday.

After two winless seasons, CC-E started 2016 with a 30-28 win over Charter Oak-Ute. The Mavericks also have a 52-18 win over Siouxland Christian.

However, GT/RA just has more offensive firepower than CC-E.

Kolton Roth has 876 yards and 20 touchdowns on 130 carries. Quarterback Jacob Conlon has 595 yards and eight touchdowns on seven carries.

By comparison, the Mavericks’ Judge Altenburg has 431 yards and six touchdowns on 79 carries and Pete Trierweiler has 135 yards and two touchdowns on 31 carries.

Through the air, Conlon is 43-of-66 passing for 582 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions.

The Mavericks have had some success through the air with Ben McCain going 33-f-109 for 478 yards with seven touchdowns and five interceptions.

CCE hasn’t had much success the past three weeks losing 70-6 to Harris-Lake Park, 58-6 to West Bend-Mallard and 66-26 to Newell-Fonda.

In last week’s game, Newell-Fonda led 66-6 at halftime.

The Titans are coming off a homecoming 50-20 victory over St. Mary’s of Remsen and will have to avoid looking to the Oct. 14 matchup against Harris-Lake Park.
