ARMSTRONG – Coming up with their second win of the season, the North Union Warriors will be looking for more as they travel to Fort Dodge to face St. Edmond this Friday.

St Edmond (1-5 overall) is coming off a tough 19-16 loss to Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn.

Look for both teams to look to establish the run as neither has had much success throwing the football. St. Edmond quarterback Andrew Gibb is just 5-of-44 passing for 92 yards with three interceptions and no touchdowns. North Union’s Elliott Hagebock is 19-of-46 with no touchdowns and six interceptions.

St. Edmonds has totaled 998 rushing yards for the season while North Union has 965.

The Gaels are led by Cade Naughton with 84 carries for 36 yards and three touchdowns. Logan Fear has 326 yards and six touchdowns on six carries while Charlie Shelly has 218 yards on 50 carries.

Derek Thompson leads North Union with 427 yards and three touchdowns on 127 carries. Isaac Engeman has 111 carries for 398 yards and six touchdowns. The Warriors moved senior Trent Pedersen in the backfield last week and he now has 35 carries for 134 yards and two touchdowns-all but 1 yard came in the win over MMCRU.

Both the Warriors and Gaels have a defensive leader. Eythan Blair leads North Union with 62 solo tackles and 21 assists including six solo tackles for a loss.
