Algona swimmers wrap up season
FORT DODGE – The Algona Girls Swim Team finished the season with a ninth place finish at the regional meet in Fort Dodge with 75 points on Saturday.
“We had seven personal records and one team record today,” said Algona coach Jim Fisher. “We also had 15 of 25 events beat their seed time. The girls really had some good times. That also showed in the
Power Points being the highest of the season.”
The best finish on the day for the Bulldogs came in the 200 freestyle relay as Cheyanne Fries, Laura Stowater, Bridget Finley and Jessica Anderson placed seventh in a team-record time of 1 minute, 52.55 seconds.
The 400 freestyle relay team of Brianna Birkland, Stowater, Finley and Fries placed eighth in 4:27.87.
Anderson placed eighth in the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.75.
The 200 medley relay team of Fries, Anderson, Kali Garman and Finley placed ninth in 2:09.04.
Algona finished with a 5-11 dual season.
