North Union finishes fourth at Spirit Lake
SPIRIT LAKE – The North Union boys won four events on the way to placing fourth at the Spirit Lake Co-Ed Invitational on Tuesday.
Riley Bauer won the 1600-meter run with ease in 4 minutes, 24.57 seconds-nearly 20 seconds faster than the next runner. He also anchored the winning sprint medley relay team of Jordi Rodriguez, Derek Thompson and Elliott Hagebock. Bauer anchored the second-place 4×400-meter relay, which included Hagebock, Thompson and Trent Pedersen.
Hagebock won the high jump at 5 feet, 11 inches. Also winning was the shuttle hurdle relay team of Blake Crawmer, Pedersen, Nate Joyce and Cody Geerdes.
Geerdes also contributed a second-place finish in the long jump.
North Union is at Estherville today.
