ELC battles 2A No. 2 Wolfpack

HULL – Estherville Lincoln Central gave a good effort against Class 2A No. 2 Western Christian on Thursday, but the Wolfpack still came away with a 3-0 victory.

Western Christian won by scores of 25-12, 25-16, 25-19.

“We did a really good job of communicating and not giving up,” said ELC junior outside hitter Vanessa Woelber. “At one point, we were ahead 19-16 and even though they are great hitters, we kept defending them.”

Brianna Fix led ELC’s attack with seven kills while Woelber had three. Kendall Evans finished with 10 set assists and also was 6-of-6 serving.

Defensively, Lindsey Jensen had nine digs and one block and Dania Ponce Diaz had six digs.

ELC (6-6 overall, 0-2 in the Lakes Conference) is on the road against Storm Lake on Tuesday.
