Midgets storm past Tornadoes
STORM LAKE – Estherville Lincoln Central took care of business against a struggling Storm Lake team in Lakes Conference volleyball on Tuesday.
The Midgets swept the Tornadoes by scores of 25-18, 25-18 and 25-22.
“We tried a lot of different offensive plays that worked,” said sophomore outside hitter Dania Ponce Diaz. “Storm Lake scrambled for everything, but we also did a great job covering tips.
ELC co-coach Keija Evans noted that Kallie Dalen has been brought up to the varsity to help with serving.
“Again tonight, she had to come up in a tough situation on a game point serve in the third set and nailed it,” coach Evans said.
ELC also had senior middle hitter Makayla Howard returning to play.
“It was really nice having Makayla back tonight,” said ELC co-coach Jean Jensen. “Even though she isn’t quite 100 percent, she played a big part in tonight’s win.”

Woelber led the ELC attack with 12 kills while Lindsey Jensen had 10 and Brianna Fix had nine. Evans finished with 28 set assists.
