Algona swim times improving
PERRY – The Algona Girls Swim Team dropped a pair of duals on Tuesday night falling 55-43 to Perry and 79-21 to Boone.
“The team showed a lot of improvement with 15 faster times than the last meet with Kaitlyn Pollock dropping 33 seconds from her 500 time,” said Algona coach Jim Fisher. ” The improvement was good considering there were several girls doing new or different events and the different relay combos.”
The 200 medley relay team of Emily Paulson, Leah Williams, Kaitlyn Pollock and Madi Gifford was third overall and first against Perry in a time of 2:24.06
In the 200 freestyle, Trysta Penning was second against Perry in 3:02.94.
In the 50 freestyle, Gifford was second versus both Perry and Boone in 29.96 and Quimby Ross was third in 30.98.
Emma Ross was second versus Boone in the 100 fly in 1:17.59.
Pollock was first in the 500 freestyle vs Perry in 6:54.64.
The 200 freestyle relay team of Cathryn Houge, Williams, Quimby Ross and Gifford placed second versus Perry in 2:08.76 while the 400 freestyle relay team of Gifford, Paulson, and the Ross sisters was second to both Perry and Boone in a time of 4:53.38.
In the 100 breaststroke, Houge placed second to Perry in a time of 1:31.86
Next up Algona is in Ft. Dodge for a double dual with Carroll and Ft. Dodge on Thursday.
