Titans pack well at Sioux Central
SIOUX RAPIDS — The Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire Boys finished 13th at the Sioux Central Invitational on Thursday.
“As a team, our 3-6 runners have begun to run as a pack for the first time,” said GT/RA coach Mike Nichols. “I am happy to see that, and now I hope to see us move that pack up.”
Aiden Egertson led the Titans, placing 41st in 19 minutes, 27 seconds.
“Aiden had two strong meets this week,” said Nichols. “He’s really getting after it in practice, and he’s having to push himself to do it as our clear #1 runner.”
Carson Torreson finished 74th in 21:37, Quentin Scott aook 75th in 21:38.
“Carson has been our big surprise this week,” said Nichols. “He ran as a strong #2 for us in both meets. He’s running mid-season about where he finished last season.
“Quentin improved greatly from Monday to Thursday,” the coach said. ” He joined us three weeks into the season, so it is taking him a little more time to get back where he was last season. He’s really close now.”
Zach Borchers placed 82nd in 22:12 while David Griffith placed 83rd in 22:13 to round out the team score. Also, Tyson Olson placed 86th in 22:23.
