Titans to face No. 4 Hawks
GT/RA will need to step up
RUTHVEN — Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire’s season won’t get any easier after last Friday’s 39-0 homecoming loss to Harris-Lake Park.
The Titans (1-2) travel to Remsen to take on fourth-ranked St. Mary’s. The Hawks (3-0) have scored at least 50 points in each game this season and amassed more than twice as many yards as the Titans (1,200 to 558).
Sophomore quarterback Max Hough leads GT/RA with 125 passing yards and 271 rushing yards. His top receiver is Cormick Currans, who has eight catches for 74 yards. Currans also has 157 yards rushing.
Jeremy Koenck leads St. Mary’s ground attack with 311 yards and six touchdowns on 40 carries. Blaine Harpenau is 17-of-29 passing for 243 yards and three touchdowns. Harpenau also has rushed for 193 yards and five touchdowns.
Damen Brownmiller is the top receiver with 10 catches for 155 yards, but seven other players have caught at least one pass.
St. Mary’s is coming off a 56-6 win over West Bend-Mallard (1-3). The Wolverines defeated GT/RA 38-8 in Week 1. The Hawks limited WB-M to 146 total yards while putting up 430 of their own.
The Titan defense will have to do better after giving up 286 yards last week against Harris-Lake Park. Brock Grimm leads the defense with 24.5 tackles while Currans has 20.5. Kaden McCoy and Lusas Rouse each have two sacks.
The Hawk defense gave up 20 points to River Valley in the season opener, but have allowed just one touchdown since. Jaxon Bunkers leads the team with 19 tackles.
