ELC girls take fifth at Eagle Grove Invitational
Midgets hold tiebreaker over Webster City
EAGLE GROVE — The Estherville Lincoln Central girls cross country team edged Webster City for fifth place at in the Class A Division of the 2020 Dick Bell Invitational hosted by Eagle Grove on Tuesday.
Both ELC and Webster City finished with 11 points, but the Midgets had a sixth runner while the Lynx did not.
Three ELC girls medaled in the meet, as the Midgets were led by Jasey Anderson’s seventh-place finish in 22 minutes, 53 seconds while Allison Young placed 16th in 24:03, and Emerson Blair placed 28th in 25:39. Maggie Domek placed 33rd in 26:29 , Ava Matheson placed 36th in 27:10, and Katelyn Myers placed 50th in 33:51.
In the boys’ race, ELC finished eighth out of eight teams with 181 points.
Parker Duitsman led the Midgets, placing 16th in 19:05, while Kaleb Young placed 27th in 19:51, Will Martin placed 42nd in 21:45, Caleb Lausen placed 46th in 22:16, and Gary Gardner placed 50th in 23:33. Also, Jacob Knudson placed 51st in 23:34.
ELC travels to Hull on Monday for the 2020 Lakes Conference meet hosted by Western Christian.
