Warriors come up short vs. Cardinals

ARMSTRONG — North Union couldn’t close out visiting Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, as the Cardinals left Armstrong with a 3-2 victory on Tuesday.

The visitors took the first set 25-16, as North Union came back to take the next two games 25-20 and 25-19. GHV then wrapped up the final two games with scores of 25-18, and 15-8.

North Union finished with 43 kills in the match led by Anna Longhenry with 16 while Olivia Von Bank also reached double digits with 11. Shayla Reese and SamNielsen each had five kills. Lily Henderson had 22 set assists and Libby Stevens had 10.

Erica Eenhuis, led the Cardinals with 18 kills.

Defensively, Henderson had 12 digs and Longhenry had 11. Reese had four blocks and Nielsen and Longhenry each had two.

Henderson led the serving, going 19-of-22 with seven aces. Longhenry was 15-of-16 with three aces, and Emily Meyer was 17-of-18 with an ace.

North Union (3-13 overall) hosts Belmond-Klemme today.
