Warriors place sixth
FOREST CITY — The North Union girls and boys cross country teams both finished sixth at the the Forest City Invitational on Monday.
Hannah Morphew led the Warrior girls, placing 16th in 23 minutes, 37 seconds. Hanna Sandvig placed 21st in 24:13, Cassie Beadle placed 30th in 25:08, Madi Hoyer placed 45th in 26:16, and Harley Tobin placed 57th in 27:19. Also, Jordyn Cummins placed 61st in 27:50 and Michaela Carranza placed 71st in 30:37.
Nick Schiltz led the North Union boys with a fifth-place finish in 18:28. Gage Madden placed 14th in 19:03, Gavyn Morphew placed 33rd in 20:17, Nick Arndorfer placed 47th in 21:03, and Trevor Kruse placed 54th in 21:18. Also, Dalton placed 63rd in 21:55 and Shawn Odegaard placed 89th in 23:52.
The Warriors travel to the Top of Iowa Conference Meet today at Eagle Grove.
Titans take 11th at FC
The Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire boys cross country team finished 11th at the Forest City Invitational on Monday.
Aiden Egertson led the Titans, placing 41st in 20 minutes, 41 seconds. Quentin Scott placed 59th in 21:42, Carson Torreson placed 75th in 22:29, Zach Borchers place d80th in 23:06 and Tyson Olson placed 103rd in 26:03.
“We ran well tonight,” said GT/RA coach Mike Nichols. “Quentin Scott had his best race of the year. The boys have now beat some teams in three of the last four meets. They weren’t doing that early in the season, and they are justly proud of that.”
GT/RA travels to Pocahontas on Saturday for the Twin LakesConference Meet.
