Two All-Conference runners for ELC

Duitsman places sixth

HULL — Estherville Lincoln Central freshman Parker Duitsman earned all-conference honors with a sixth-place finish in his first Lakes Conference Meet on Monday.

Duitsman clocked in a time of 17 minutes 56.48 seconds. Western Christian junior Tage Hulstein won the meet on the Wolfpack’s home course at the Rolling Hills Golf Course in 17:06. Spencer’s Case Cauthron was 18 seconds behind, placing second in 17:24.

The ELC boys finished sixth overall in the team standings with 139 points. For the Midgets, Kaleb Young placed 29th in 20:19, Will Martin placed 31st in 20:42, Jacob Knudson placed 36th in 22:04, and Gary Gardner placed 37th in 23:18. Also running varsity for ELC, Caleb Lausen placed 38th in 24:05 and Isaac Reineke placed 41st in 27:46.

ELC will run in a state qualifying meet in Orange City on Thursday, Oct. 22.

In the junior varsity boys race, Eli Ross placed 39th.
