Guidelines announced for 2020-21 winter sports season
Following Governor Kim Reynolds announcement of COVID-19 restrictions earlier this week, Estherville Lincoln Central Activities Director Shane Kalous provided some guidelines from the school district on Wednesday for this year’s winter sports season.
“I know there is a lot of excitement for the winter sports season,” Kalous said. “Many people have asked what will attendance for games look like. Yesterday (Tuesday) guidance was released as to what attendance will look like to begin the winter sports seasons. This includes high school and middle school.”
The following will be required to start the season.
*Face coverings- are are required for all events in all schools (per Governor Reynold’s New Public Measures on 11/10/2020)
*Two tickets per athlete- basketball player, wrestler, cheerleader (per Governor Reynold’s New Public Measures on 11/10/2020)
*ELC will not have a pep band at home games to start the winter sports season.
“Please keep in mind guidelines are constantly changing,” said Kalous. “The number one goal is the same as it was for fall sports- we want to do everything possible to keep our kids on the court and the mat.”
