2020 Class A District 2 All-District – Three Warriors named to first Team

Finishing fifth in a tough Class A District 2, the North Union Warriors still had plenty of postseason honors for the 2020 season.

The Warriors (1-7 overall, 1-4 in district play) placed three players on the All-District First Team with two each on the Second Team and Honorable Mention.

First team North Union selections were seniors Ryan Lang and Caleb Rasch along with junior Christian Bierstedt. Rasch, a 6-2, 250-pound center, helped open holes for Lang, who finished with 1,229 rushing yards this season. Lang completed those yards in 183 carries, an average of 6.7 yards per carry, with 17 touchdowns.

Bierstedt stood out on defense, where he led North Union with 65.6 tackles including 32 solo tackles with nine tackles for a loss.

Name to the second team were senior Carter Johnson and sophomore Bryce Prochniak. Prochniak and Johnson were Nos. 2 and 3 on the tackle chart for the Warriors this season. Prochniak had 51 tackles including 38 solo with one for a loss. Johnson had 49 tackles with 27 solo tackles and three for a loss. Prochniak was a jack of all trades with 23 catches for 366 yards as well as 98 rushing yards. He returned 20 kickoffs for 42 yards and six punts for 132 yards.

Seniors Gavin Prentice and Evan Bollinger both received honorable mention All-District.

Ten North Union players received Academic All-District honors. They were seniors Caleb Rasch, Evan Bollinger, Michael Hanson, Trevor Kruse, Schuyler Moffitt, Carter Johnson, Carter Anderson, Gavin Prentice, and juniors Christian Bierstedt and Izaak Martens.
