Titans take down Wolves in 2020 season opener
The Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire girls gave first-year coach Lucas Hough a victory to start the season, as the Titans defeated Harris-Lake Park 51-36 on Tuesday.
Hough, who had been the assistant coach for the boys’ team, took over the girls’ team from his brother Todd.
The Titans led nearly the whole game with an 11-9 lead after one quarter, 26-19 at halftime and 42-26 after three quarters.
Sophomore Ally Hanson led GT/RA with 14 points while shooting 6-of-10 from the field. She also had six steals and five rebounds. Freshman Madison Fay came off the bench to contribute eight points, Mackenzie Hoffman had seven, Sierra Kluever had five, Kate Sorenson had four, Mercedes DePyper, Gabby Conlon and Macy Alderson each had three, and Josi Reiman and Avery Wooden each had two. All the Titans who played got in the scoring column
DePyper had 10 rebounds and Kluever had four steals.
GT/RA struggled at the free throw line, where that were 7-of-19.
Ava Rasche, Tessa Gunderson and Zella Ingham each had eight points for the Wolves.
GT/RA (1-0 overall) hosts West Bend-Mallard (0-1) on Tuesday in Graettinger.
