Warriors take care of Titans with ease
GRAETTINGER — Two area teams met up in Graettinger on Tuesday, with the North Union girls winning with ease over host Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire, 54-25.
The Warriors led 14-5 after one quarter, 26-8 at halftime, and 44-12 after three quarters.
The Warriors had 31 steals in the contest, led by Olivia Von Bank, Sam Nielsen, and Cassie Beadle each with six while Lily Henderson had five. Beadle also had five of the team’s 12 assists.
North Union featured a balanced attack, led by Vanessa Von Bank with 12 points, as the only Warrior in double digits. Olivia Von Bank and Sam Nielsen each had eight points while Cassie Beadle had seven, Lily Henderson had five, Ella Ulrich had four, Maggie Engelby and Alivia Charlton each had three, and Libby Stevens and Emily Meyer each had two.
Sierra Kluever and Madison Fay led GT/RA with five points while Kate Sorenson and Ally Hanson each had four, Mercedes Depyper had three, Josi Reiman had two, and Gabby Conlon and Adri Krieger each had one.
GT/RA (2-11 overall) hosts Pocahontas Area on Friday in Graettinger.
North Union (9-3 overall) hosts North Iowa on Friday in Armstrong.
On Monday, GT/RA lost 48-23 to Sioux Central. The Rebels jumped out to a 15-2 lead in the first quarter and led 31-11 at halftime.
DePyper and Krieger led the Titans with six points each, wile Kate Sorenson had four, Ally Hanson had three, and Madison Fay and Josi Reiman each had two.
