Laker women split games
Jaeda Whitner scored 21 points, Rachel Breck added 14
points, and Rachel Puok had 10 points, as the Iowa Lakes
women defeated Iowa Central 68-63 last Wednesday.
“Great team win on the road over a very good Iowa
Central team,” said Iowa Lakes coach Ashley Martin. “I
thought our team fought through adversity and played so
hard for 40 minutes. I’m really proud of their effort.”
On Saturday, the Lakers lost 68-37 to top-ranked
Kirkwood. Whitner led the Lakers with 14 points and
Madison Hough added 11 points.
Iowa Lakes (6-8 overall and in the conference) returns
to action at 5 p.m., Wednesday, March 10 when they host
DMACC.
