ELC wraps up busy week

SPENCER, MILFORD — The Estherville Lincoln Central Boys Golf Team ended a busy week with a a tournament in Spencer on Thursday followed by a dual meet against Okoboji on Friday.

The Midgets finished fifth at Spencer with a 344. Spirit Lake won with 312 followed by Clear Lake with 335, Spencer and Kuemper Catholic with 337, ELC, Webster City with 345, Cherokee with 350, Carroll with 351 and Spencer Gold with 381.

Brandon Brunsvold led ELC with an 81 while Ryan Schiltz shot 84, Blake Ingvall 86, and Clay Hanson 93. Non-counting scores were a 101 by Cael Wodtke and a 103by Tristan Howard.

In Friday’s dual, Okoboji edged ELC 170 to 175. Schiltz led the Midgets with a 39 followed by Hanson with 43, Brunsvold with 44, and Howard with 49. Non-counting scores were a 50 by Blake Ingvall and a 54 by Cael Wodtke.

ELC is at Cherokee today.

In ELC’s junior varsity and CJV teams both shot 190s at Okoboji. Individual scores are: Carter Snyder 47, Landon Vaske 48, Blake Evans 49, Kyle Quastad 48, Nick Hansen 52 Jordan Jensen 47, Kyle Quastad 48, Nick Hansen 52, and Jordan Jensen 47.

LIVERMORE — Chase Cummins led North Union to a second-place finish at Spring Valley Golf Course on Thursday. Cummins led the Warriors with a 46 while Parker Eichenberger shot a 48, and Michael Hanson and Gage Madden each shot 49s. Non-counting scores were a 55 by Teagan Fothergill and a 67 by Tanner Boever.

Forest City’s Jack Harms was meet medalist with a 39 while Bishop Garrigan’s Kyle Schaaf was runnerup with a 42.

LIVERMORE — North Union had just four golfers on Thursday, but the Warriors still finished second at a triangular hosted by Bishop Garrigan.

Jordyn Cummins led North Union with a 47 and earned runner-up medalist honors. Garrigan’s Kelly Baade won medalist with a 45.

Rounding out the Warriors’ scores, Halle Rezac shot a 59, Amerlia Fothergill a 62 and Abby Rezac a 74.

On Friday, North Union was back at full strength. Olivia Von Bank took medalist honors with a 49 to lead the Warriors in the win. Vanessa Von Bank tied for second with a 50, but lost on on runner-up during the card back review to MaKenna Hanson of Lake Mills.

Rounding out the Warrior scores, Halle Rezac shot a 52, Abby Rezac and Amelia Fothergill both carded 55s while Jordyn Cummins shot a 56.
