Funeral services for Arthur Ayers, Jr., 52, of Estherville, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 3, 2022, at the Henry Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Pastor Lori Westfall officiating. Interment will be at East Side Memorial Cemetery, Estherville. He passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Sunday, January 2, 2022, at the funeral chapel in Estherville.
Arthur Edward Ayers, Jr, was born in Estherville on May 29, 1969 to Arthur and Jolene (Nissen), Sr.
Art graduated from Lincoln Central High School in 1987 and worked at Sundes’ Gas Station. During the summer of 1987, he began working at Beck Excavating and has been a faithful employee since then. Art was active with Logan and Hallie in their 4H projects (cows and pigs). He would go and look at calves from here to kingdom come. He continued to raise cows into his adulthood.
Art was a member of the Izaak Walton League and Pheasants Forever. He enjoyed coon hunting, golfing, snowmobiling, and collecting guns. Spending time with his family brought Art his greatest joys in life. He loved hosting the yearly Memorial Day Celebration at his home. His family could always count on getting lottery tickets at Christmas time. He was extremely proud of each of his nieces and nephews.
Art is survived by his mother Jolene Ayers of Estherville; his siblings Kimberly (Darin) Olson, Mark (Melissa) Ayers, and Tina (Constantino) Alvarez; his nieces and nephews: Elizabeth Olson, Jacob (Mackenzie) Olson, Emilee (Logan Dalen) Olson, Erika Olson, Alyssa (Camryn) Lupkes, Logan Ayers, Hallie Ayers, Brittany Alvarez, Anthony Alvarez, and Selena Alvarez; his great- nephews Grayson Lupkes and Elijah Lockhart.
Art is preceded in death by his father Art Ayers, Sr., his sister Lori Jo, and his grandparents Ray (Eileen) Ayers and Ralph (Juanita) Nissen.
