A graveside service for Betty M. Leach, 95, of Armstrong, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 20, 2020, at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Armstrong, with Father Merlin Schrad officiating. Visitation will be held from 10-10:30 a.m., Monday at the cemetery. She passed away surrounded by her family on July 16, 2020.
Betty M. Leach, daughter of John and Cora (Kehoe) Moore, was born in Armstrong, Iowa on May 6, 1925.
Betty attended Armstrong Schools. During World War II, she worked in an aircraft factory. She was united in marriage to Roger Leach on October 31, 1946. The couple made their home in Armstrong. Betty worked as a telephone operator. Betty enjoyed going to auctions and doing word searches. She was quite the quilter and enjoyed making quilts and afghans for her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: William Leach; Don (Joyce) Leach; Gail (Lawrence) Heyn; Gary Leach; Larry (Sue) Leach; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and her brother Herbert (Jan) Moore.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her siblings Donald Moore, Fay Moore, Agnes (Harvey) Nelson, and Mary (Raymond) Kracht.
Memorials are preferred to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Armstrong.
