Funeral services for Delores Kesler, 86, of Estherville, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 10, 2021, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Estherville. Interment will be at East Side Cemetery, Estherville. She died on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at Pearl Valley Care Center in Estherville.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Sunday at the Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville.

Delores Elaine (Howard) Kesler, the daughter of Harold and Etta (Andresen) Howard, was born March 14, 1935 in Estherville, Iowa. 

She received her education and graduated from Gruver High School in 1953.

On November 28, 1954, she was married to Junior Kesler at Immanuel Lutheran Church south of Gruver. She and Junior lived a short time in Estherville. In 1962, they moved to a farm east of Estherville, where they farmed for 27 years and raised their four children. Junior died Aug. 3, 1989. Around 1995, Delores moved into Estherville where she worked at the ASCS office for 15 years. After retirement she worked “when needed” for her nephew David at his accounting office. She also served proudly for 22 years as the visitation hostess for Henry Olson Funeral Home.

Delores loved family first and foremost. She spent many years traveling and attending the numerous sporting events her children participated in. She was their number one fan. She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Estherville.

Left to cherish Delores’ memory are her children, Boyd (Linda) Kesler of Estherville, Suzanne (Lanny) Hoffmeyer of Shakopee, MN, Brian (Lynn) Kesler of Estherville, Dean (Christine) Kesler of Sartell, MN; grandchildren, Nicole Kesler, Megan Payne, Alex Hoffmeyer, Carrie (Nick) Alig, Craig (Rebecca) Kesler, Brad (Michelle) Kesler, Abigale Kesler, Ashley Kesler, Ryan Lockman and Sara Lockman; great-granddaughter, Eden, and a great-grandson coming in August. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Lucille Guinn, Irene (Bart) Evans, and Linda (Roger) Simons; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, infant daughter Rebecca, grandson Wyatt Kesler, brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Mardelle Howard, and brother-in-law, Ormal Guinn.
