A Celebration of Life Service for Geraldine Glenn, age 95, of Lakefield, will be held Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 1:00 PM at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakefield, Minnesota with Pastor Andrew Schensted officiating. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery in Estherville, Iowa.

A time of visitation and gathering will be held one hour prior to the service, from 12:00 – 1:00 PM, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakefield.

Geraldine May Glenn was born on April 27, 1928, to the late Frederick and Alfreda (Swanson) Reetz in Martin County, Minnesota. She was baptized into the Christian faith on June 1, 1928, at Monterey Cedar Lutheran Church in Martin County, Minnesota, and later confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Martin County, on October 3, 1943. She began her early education at Petersburg Country School and then attended Jackson High School, graduating with the class of 1946.

She was united in marriage to Robert William Glenn on September 2, 1946. Their marriage was blessed with eight children – Ronald, Dennis, Craig, Becky, Pat, Scott, Holly, and Ginger.

Geraldine was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakefield and a former member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Jackson. She was a dedicated member of the American Legion VFW Auxiliary in Estherville and was a Gold Star Mother.

Geraldine loved spending time caring for her children, grandchildren, great-grand-children, and great-great-grandchildren.

She worked as an Inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture for over 26 years, retiring in 1989. Her hobbies filled her days with crafting, sewing, gardening, dancing, and of course, playing triopoly.

Geraldine passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington, Minnesota, at the age of 95.

Geraldine is survived by her children, Patricia Updike of Lakefield; Scott (Deb) Glenn of Arlington, TX; Holly (Brian) Elness of Lakefield; Ginger Bradley of Grand Forks, ND; 18 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Judy Reetz of Estherville; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Glenn (04/10/1983); four children, Ronald, Dennis, Craig, and Becky; two brothers Fred (Zita) Reetz, Arnold Reetz; and special friend, Roland Koster of Lakefield.
