GT/RA boys place 11th at Sioux Central


SIOUX RAPIDS — Aidan Egertson recorded a top 10 finish and the Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire boys finished 11th out of 13 teams at the Sioux Central Invitational on Thursday.
“It was our best meet of the year by far,” said GT/RA coach Mike Nichols. “ Karima (Rostom) continues to improve and the boys beat a couple of full teams for the first time this year. Aiden Egertson ran the best race of his career finishing eighth in a loaded 87-man field. Zach Borchers ran his best race of the season too.”
Egertson’s time on the 5K course was 18 minutes, 14.86 seconds. Borchers placed 57th in 22:34.15. Also, Quentin Scott placed 64th in 23:43.28, David Griffith placed 65th in 23:50.76, and Tristan Harvey placed 83rd in 27:25.05.
Rostom finished 75th in the girls race in 38:31.44.
GT/RA travels to Humboldt on Monday, a meet added to the schedule since the meet at Okoboji was canceled.
