James (Jim) Grems, the son of Lester and Hazel E. (DeWall) Grems, was born April 30, 1951, in Estherville, Iowa, and passed away on Monday, May 18, 2020, at his home in Springdale, Ark., at the age of 69.
Jim received his education in the Estherville Schools, graduating in 1969, and continued his education at Western Tech College in Colorado.
On April 27, 1973, Jim was united in marriage to Lois Lynn Keagle at Terril, Iowa. Jim's career with the U.S. Government as a Federal Meat Inspection led to Jim and Lois living in many parts of the country. They lived in Iowa, Montana, Colorado, Florida, Utah, Michigan, Minnesota, and finally retiring to Springdale, Ark.
Jim enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was an avid NASCAR fan. While in the western states, Jim spent many years recreational prospecting for gold. He enjoyed his springer spaniels and his cat PITA.
Jim is survived by his wife Lois, brothers Robert Grems and his wife, Jean of Estherville, Iowa; Randall Grems and his wife Becky of Faribault, Minn., sister-in-law Verna Ives, Naples, Fla; brothers-in-law Calvin Keagle of Lake Placid, Fla., and Loren Keagle of Lake Placid, Fla., and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, half-brothers Mervin Grems, Marvin Grems and half-sisters Marlyn Friesner and Charlene Arndt.
