Funeral services for Janet L. Catelli, 84, will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021, at the Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Pastor Doug Burton officiating. Interment will be at East Side Cemetery, Estherville. Janet passed away Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021, in McLoud, OK.

Janet Lee (Hockett) Catelli, the daughter of Delbert D. and Audrey M. (Race) Hockett was born on May 25, 1936, in Estherville, Iowa.

Janet attended Estherville schools and graduated from Estherville High School. Janet was a Christian and a member of the First Christian Church in Estherville, IA during her childhood. Janet stayed involved in church throughout her lifetime teaching Sunday school and playing the piano & organ. Janet loved her childhood in Estherville and spoke about it often.

Janet married Clifford Glen Clabaugh on June 26, 1953, and were married for 33 years. Together they had six children and raised them in California. Janet stayed home with the children until she began working at Pomona Valley Hospital in 1968. In 1977 they moved their family to Oklahoma, and she worked at the Joseph Harp Correctional Center as the warden’s secretary.

On January 20, 1991, Janet married Granville (Doug) Ward Houck and resided in Hesperia, CA. Janet worked at the Ontario, CA Police Department until she retired in 1996.

Janet married Frank Catelli on March 4, 2001, and they made their home in Yuma, AZ.

Left to cherish Janet’s memory are her six children; Mike Clabaugh of Vail, AZ, Rick & Teresa Clabaugh of Craig, NE, Kim & Billy Martin of McLoud, OK, Tamy & Billy Gibson of Paoli, OK, Robin & Rick McClure of Placentia, CA, and Galen & June Clabaugh of Newalla, OK; her f ive step-children Danny & Jerry Houck of Alta Loma, CA, Kathy Houck Clabaugh of Tecumseh, OK, William & Rose Catelli of Saint Maries, ID, Sharon Sharp of Redding, CA, and Donna & Neil Wilson of Redlands, CA; her brother Bob & Sandy Hockett of Estherville, IA; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, family members, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Clifford Glen Clabaugh, Granville (Doug) Ward Houck, and Frank Catelli; sisters Wanda Hockett Crees, Beverley Jean Whitacre; many brothers and sisters in-law; and other family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association.
