Laker women even record with pair of wins


The Iowa Lakes earn a gritty win on the road against Southeastern 55-49 on Saturda The Lakers were led by Rachel Puok who recorded a double double with 14 points and 14 rebounds.  Jaeda Whitner added 12 points and 4 assists. Madison Hough and Tianna Powell both added 8 points a piece. 

“Proud of the team today for getting a tough win on the road,” said Iowa Lakes coach Ashley Martin. “On a day when we weren’t shooting it well, our team found a way and showed a lot of heart down the stretch. We are learning how to win close games and make plays down the stretch. Excited to get back to work and continue to improve,”

Iowa Lakes (3-3 overall, 3-3 in the ICCAC) returns to action on Wednesday when they travel to Iowa Falls to take on Ellsworth.

On Wednesday, the Iowa Lakes women defeated Southwestern 73-62 on Wednesday. The Lakers were led by Rachel Puok with 21 points. Jaeda Whitner added 17 points and eight assists. Madison Hough added 15 points, Tianna Powell added nine points, six assists, six steals, and four rebounds.

 “Great team win tonight. So proud of our team and the fight they showed. I thought our girls competed really hard and made plays down the stretch. Excited to continue to see this team improve,” said Coach Martin.
