A private family Celebration of Life will be held for Lola Severin.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials be sent to Good Samaritan Society-Estherville, First Presbyterian Church, Estherville, or a memorial of your choice.

Lola Mae (Struck) Willey Severin, the daughter of Elsa (Creger) and Henry Struck was born on May 18, 1927 in rural Toronto, Iowa. She died on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Good Samaritan Society-Estherville, at the age of 93.

She received her education in the Toronto and Lowden schools, graduating from Lowden High School in 1944.

On May 18, 1948 Lola was united in marriage to Dr. Elmer L. Willey in St. Paul’s Evangelical church parsonage in Wheatland, Iowa. Upon his graduation from Palmer School of Chiropractic, Davenport the couple moved to Estherville, Iowa where they raised their family and resided for over 40 years. Elmer passed away February 15, 1989.

On May 26, 2001, Lola was united in marriage to Robert J. Severin in Camanche, Iowa where she moved and resided for over 15 years. The couple moved to Grand Haven Assisted Living in Eldridge, Iowa for a few years before Lola eventually moved to Good Samaritan Society-Estherville.

Lola loved to square dance, bake and play cards. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and she loved her Lord and Savior, serving Him all her life. She was always known for a will of steel, a listening ear, a positive outlook on life, a twinkle in her eye, a quick loving remark to share and was always happy being with her family.

Lola was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Estherville.

Lola is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Dr. Elmer L. Willey, son-in-law Jeffrey M. Scott and great-grandson Myles Scott Stokes.

Left to cherish Lola’s memory are her husband, Robert J. Severin of East Moline, IL; children, Steven (Marcia) Willey of New Ulm, MN; Debra (John) Cotney of Helena, AL; James (Julie) Willey of Estherville, IA; Jeffrey (Janet) Willey of Femme Osage, MO; stepchildren, Stan (Becky) Severin of Lowden, IA; Lisa Severin of Peoria, IL; Brian Severin of Lowden, IA; 28 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
