Michael (Mike) Schubert
Funeral services for Michael (Mike) Schubert, 64, of Estherville, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Calvary Gospel Assembly in Estherville with Pastor David Hovinga officiating. On Saturday, June 12, 2021, he departed this life doing what he loved with the wind in his face and the road ahead of him in rural Emmet County at the age of 64 years, 10 months and 29 days.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., Saturday at Calvary Gospel Assembly in Estherville.
Michael (Mike) Edward Schubert, the son of Donald Sr and Dolly (Fowler) Schubert was born on July 14, 1956 in Estherville, Iowa.
He found great peace in life with his profound faith in the Lord which is evident by the discussions the family has had with his fellow church family. We are told that he was able to share the challenges he has had in his life but had the ability to move forward and believe in the Lord his Savior. We are comforted in that he is shining above, sharing in the word of the Lord with his mother Dolly in heaven.
Mike enjoyed spending time with his church family, never missing a Sunday Service or a church business meeting or special event. Fishing at the river with his nephew, sharing his tools and talents with neighbors, riding around town on his little yellow four-wheeler and always making his daily driving paths around town with his arm out the window and a “light” in his hand. He also spoke of great memories of his kids and grandkids and hoped to have many more memories with them. He was a proud member of Calvary Gospel Assembly in Estherville. He had his own way about him that we all loved and respected. He will be greatly missed.
Mike will forever miss his kids –Jamie Lyons of Sheldon, IA, and his children Christopher, Colin, Austin, and Aaron; Corry Godfrey of Sioux City, IA, and his daughter Kaylynn; Kyle (Brianna) Schubert and their children Glory, Pascal and Atlas of Spencer, Koby Schubert of Estherville and Krystal Schubert of Estherville. His cat Midnight. He is also survived by his father Donald Schubert Sr of Estherville; siblings Christine Hall of Estherville; Donald Schubert Jr of Spencer; Linda Mein (Lyle) of Scotts Bluff, NE; Roxanne Kittleson of Ellendale, MN; Randy (Kelly) of Estherville; Julie (Mark) Crees of Clarksville, AR; Robert (Dawn) of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; Sondra (Ron) Schubert-Mellor of Denver, CO; Daryl (Debi) Schubert of Estherville; James (Laurie) Schubert of Jackson, MN. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles – cousins and countless close friends.
