The Estherville Lincoln Central Boys Tennis Team bounced back from Thursday’s loss to LeMars to defeat Storm Lake 7-2 on Friday.

ELC took four of the six singles matches and then swept the doubles.

“We’re currently tied for first in the Lakes Conference,” said ELC coach Kyle Grems. “Grant (Love) will be tough to beat if he has his serve going. Their (Storm Lake’s) No. 1 doubles team was undefeated until tonight. Great win all the way around. I really think we have something special here.”

In singles play, Love won 10-3, Arron Nisson lost 10-3, Brenden Finley lost 10-2, Jack Jensen won 10-4, Carson Madsen won 10-5, and Joe Amdahl won 10-5.

in doubles, Love and Madson won 10-8, Nissen and Jensen won 10-7, and Amdahl and Finley won 10-5.

There were no junior varsity matches against Storm Lake.

On Thursday for ELC’s first home meet, the Midgets had a tough matchup in LeMars, losing 7-2 to the Bulldogs.

“LeMars is ranked #7 in the state and rightfully so,” said ELC coach Kyle Grems. “I’m not satisfied, but we were in almost every match. If we win three of those 7-10 matches, we win the meet and beat a top 10 team.”

ELC picked up just one win in singles at the No. 6 slot, as Carsen Madsen won 10-5. In other singles play, Grant Love lost 10-3, Arron Nissen lost 10-0, Brenden Finley lost 10-7, Jack Jensen lost 10-7 and Joe Amdahl lost 10-4.
