ARMSTRONG - North Union's second half 3-point shooting helped the Warriors to the first victory of the season, as they defeated North Iowa 63-58 on Friday.
The Warriors hit five of their seven 3-pointers in the second half and finished 7-of-21 from beyond the arc.
North Iowa led 14-12 after one quarter with the game tied at 28-28 at halftime, but the Warriors took a 47-41 lead into the final frame.
Robert Ortman led the Warriors with 20 points while shooting 7-of-14 from the field, including 3-of-6 from 3-point range. Gage Madden tossed in 13 points while Brendan Anderson had 10, Braden Pierce had eight, Noah Morphew had seven, Aidan Fries had three, and Jay Heinen had two. Morphew finished with a team-high seven rebounds and four assists while Madden had three steals.
North Union (1-1 overall, 1-0 Top of Iowa West) heads to Forest City on Tuesday.
