Funeral services for Ralph E. McDonald, 93, of Estherville, will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 28, 2019, at United Methodist Church in Estherville with Pastor Kevin Moore officiating. Interment will be at East Side Cemetery, Estherville, with military honors by VFW Post 3388 and American Legion Post 91, both of Estherville. He passed away at his home in Estherville on Oct. 24, 2019.

Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m., Sunday at the Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville.

Ralph Everett McDonald, son of John and Ruth (Gorton) McDonald, was born in Estherville on April 23, 1926.

Ralph attended and graduated from Estherville High School. Ralph entered into the United States Army in 1946. He was later honorably discharged in 1949. Upon his return home, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Perkins on March 18, 1951 in Estherville. He was employed by Kinnard's Dairy and Wells Blue Bunny for 30 years as a milkman. He later worked for K&M Sales.

Ralph was a member of the United Methodist Church in Estherville. He was a member of the church choir for over 50 years and was a past church board member. Ralph was active in the community being a past member of the American Legion, and Jaycee's. He enjoyed golfing and gardening in his free time.

Left to cherish Ralph's memory are his children, Susan Stephens and her husband, Doug of Jefferson City, Mo.; John "Greg" McDonald and his wife, Carolyn of Ruthven; Sally Anderson and her husband, Kelly of Estherville; 11 grandchildren, Jeffrey Galbraith, wife, Paula; Allison Roller; Abby Bean; Ashley Black; husband, Lehi; Ian McDonald, wife, Sarah; Myles McDonald; Ryan McDonald; Jessica Pohlman, husband Jarred; Emily Hansen, husband Chad; Nate Anderson wife, Kim; Derek Anderson, wife, Monica; 13 great-grandchildren, Alejandro; Jackson; Olivia; Cameron; Corie; Brady; Deakon; Kylie; Ava; Jorden; Jaxon; Adalynn; Brantley; and sister Jean Raleigh of Casa Grande, Ariz.

He has been preceded in death by his parents; wife Marjorie, and great-granddaughter, Gracie Hansen.
