A memorial service for Randy D. Petersen, 66, of Estherville, will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, Aug. 4, 2023, at the Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Pastor Kathy Kluis officiating. He died on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at his daughter’s home in Ayrshire, Iowa.
Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m., Friday, Aug. 4, 2023, at the funeral chapel in Estherville.
Randy Dean Petersen, the son of Wayne and Vivian (Dahl) Petersen was born January 30, 1957, in Estherville, Iowa.
He received his education and graduated from Estherville High School in 1975.
Randy was employed with Pure Fishing in Spirit Lake until his retirement. For hobbies, Randy enjoyed bowling, baseball, fishing, listening to Neil Young, playing guitar, golfing, and hanging out with his best friend, Bill Paris. Most important to Randy was spending time with his grandchildren.
Left to cherish Randy’s memory are his daughters, Michelle Petersen and Angela Christophel, grandchildren, Zane Mickelsen, Gabe Mickelsen, Kenneth Christophel, Kyler Christophel and Gracie Petersen; great grandson, Wayne Mickelsen; mother, Vivian Petersen; siblings, Rick (Kande) Petersen; Dennis (Donnette) Petersen and Cindy (Jim) Lee.
He has been preceded in death by his father, Wayne and his grandparents.
