Funeral services for Ruth Bondhus, 82, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Pastor David Clear officiating. Interment will be at Valley View Cemetery, Graettinger. Ruth passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Lakeside Care Center in Emmetsburg, Iowa.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Ruth Ardis Bondhus, daughter of Sam and Amanda (Tveitnes) Bondhus was born at Dolliver, Iowa on November 24, 1939.
She received her education in the Dolliver Public School and lived in rural Dolliver before moving to Estherville many years ago. She was baptized and confirmed in the Palestine Lutheran Church and was now a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church. She loved going to church and especially loved hearing God’s word, music, coffee time and her church family.
Ruth also liked to spend time with her sisters and brothers-in-law and to hear how all of their families were doing and new pictures of all of them.
Ruth enjoyed the years she spent with Echo Plus and Hope Haven. She loved going to movies, country music, eating out and get togethers at Echo Plus and Hope Haven. She had many special friends through the years she was there. The staff was always so caring and concerned for her welfare. They are very special people.
Left to cherish Ruth’s memory is her sister Doris (Chuck) Haley of Colorado and brothers-in-law Bob Nelson and Elmer Clear and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings Gertrude (Vernon) Natterstad, Carol Clear, Arlene (Don) Gage, and Marlys Nelson.
