Titan girls win twice to start week


TERRIL, RUTHVEN - The Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire girls won back-to-back nights this week, defeating Harris-Lake Park 52-25 on Monday and then Alta-Aurelia 60-44 on Tuesday.

In Monday's game, the Titans led 31-17 at half-time and outscored Harris-Lake Park 19-0 in the third quarter.

Mercedes DePyper led GT/RA with 14 points on 7-of-9 shooting and also had three steals. Emma Kral came off the bench with 10 points and six rebounds. Mackenzie Hoffman had six points, three assists and three steals. Emma Baak had nine points, Madison Hough finished with six points, seven steals and five assists. Lauren Josephson had four points and five rebounds. Ally Hanson had three points.

On Tuesday, GT/RA trailed 16-15 after one quarter, but led 29-22 at halftime and 44-34 after three quarters.

Hough led GT/RA with 23 points, nine steals and five assists. Hoffman had 13 points while Depyper had 12 points and 10 rebounds. Baak contributed six points and four steals while Josephson had four points, 11 rebounds and three steals Hanson had two points.

GT/RA (5-10 overall, 2-4 in the Twin Lakes Conference) hosts West Bend-Mallard in Graettinger on Friday.

In boys' action Tuesday, GT/RA lost 80-53 to Alta-Aurelia. The Titans trailed 20-19 after one quarter, 36-25 at half-time and 64-31 after three quarters. Stats were unavailable on Wednesday.
