Titan teams fall to Emmetsburg

RUTHVEN - After picking up their first win of the season on Tuesday, Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire struggled against Class 2A No. 15 Emmetsburg's defense on Friday.

The E'Hawks held the Titans to two first quarter points and cruised to the 51-15 victory. Emmetsburg led 14-2 after one quarter, 31-6 at half-time, and 43-10 after three quarters.

Madison Hough, who led GT/RA with 23 points in Tuesday's win over West Bend-Mallard, was held to two points while shooting 1-of-12 from the field.

Mercedes DePyper led GT/RA with five points while Lauren Josephson had four, and Ally Hanson and Emma Kral each had two.

Josephson had six rebounds, Hough had five steals, and Mackenzie Hoffman had three assists.

Abbie Schany led a balanced E'Hawks with nine points.

GT/RA (1-2 overall) is on the road against Storm Lake St. Mary's on Tuesday.

In the boys' game, GT/RA lost 63-49 to the E'Hawks.

Emmetsburg led 16-14 after one quarter and 32-18 at halftime.

Max Hough led the Titans with 20 points, six rebounds, six steals, and four assists. Nolan Darr had 16 points while Drew Schnell had seven, Kadin Norris had four, and Blake Rosacker had two. Kory Hough led the rebounding with nine boards and also had three assists.

GT/RA (1-1 overall) is on the road against Storm Lake St. Mary's on Tuesday.
