Warriors bounce back


ARMSTRONG - North Union bounced back from its Monday loss with a 51-30 win over Belmond-Klemme on Tuesday.

After leading by just three, 18-15, at halftime, the Warriors had a strong second half and began pulling away in the third quarter to lead 36-25 to start the final frame.

Chloe Lofstrom finished nine points and 12 rebounds while Hope Steinberger contributed nine points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals. Vanessa VonBank had eight points, Brooklyn Prochniak had seven, Sam Nielsen and Lily Henderson each had six, May Laverty had five, Olivia VonBank and Cassie Beadle each had three, and Shelby Fraker had one.

North Union (10-6 overall) is on the road to end the week at North Iowa on Thursday and Bishop Garrigan on Friday.

SPENCER - The North Union girls couldn't keep up with Spencer on Monday, falling 53-38 to the Tigers.

After taking a 14-10 lead in the first quarter, Spencer led the rest of the game with a 27-15 halftime lead and a 46-26 lead after three quarters.

Chloe Lofstrom led the Warriors with 23 points and 15 rebounds while Brooklyn Prochniak and Sam Nielsen each had four points, Lily Henderson, Hope Steinberger, and May Laverty each had two points and Vanessa VonBank had one point.
