ARMSTRONG - A strong second half helped propel North Union past Forest City in Top of the Iowa West Conference play on Tuesday.
Neither team started well with North Union leading 6-4 after one quarter, but the Indians led 17-15 at half-time.
North Union outs-scored the visitors 11-5 in the third quarter to lead 26-22 and then won a high-score fourth quarter, 17-14.
Chloe Lofstrom led the Warriors with 18 points while shooting 7-of-10 from the field and 4-of-4 from the free throw line. She also had 12 rebounds May Laverty also was perfect in four trips to the line and finished with eight points and 11 rebounds. Sam Nielsen had five points, Hope Steinberger and Emily Meyer each had three, and Olivia Von Bank, Lily Henderson and Brooklyn Prochniak each had two.
Cassie Beadle had four steals and Steinberger had three.
North Union (9-4 overall, 6-3 in the conference) is on the road at Britt on Friday to play Class 2A No. 2 West Hancock.
