Warriors fall to No. 2 West Hancock

BRITT - The North Union girls suffered their first loss of 2020 at the hands of Class 2A No. 2 West Hancock on Friday, as the Eagles defeated the Warriors 55-35.

West Hancock had won the first meeting by 20 also, 69-59, on Dec. 13.

The Eagles won every quarter, jumping out to an 18-9 lead in the opening frame, leading 34-19 at halftime and 44-26 after three quarters.

Chloe Lofstrom led North union with 19 points and 14 rebounds while Olivia Von Bank had five, Vanessa Von Bank and Emily Meyer each had three, Hope Steinberger and May Laverty each had two, and Brooklyn Prochniak had one.

Rachel Leerar led the Eagles with 20 points.

North Union (9-5 overall) travels to Spencer today and hosts Belmond-Klemme on Tuesday in Armstrong.
