Funeral services for Lois S. Quastad, 84, of Estherville, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 2, 2020, at the First Presbyterian Church in Estherville with the Rev. Dr. Dave Ullom officiating. Interment will be at Swan Lake Township Cemetery, Gruver. She passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020, at Good Samaritan Society in Estherville.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Sunday, March 1, 2020, at the Henry-Olson Funeral Home in Estherville.
Lois S. (Larson) Quastad, the daughter of Levi S. and Cecile M. (Iseminger) Larson, was born January 2, 1936, east of Estherville, Iowa.
Lois was a lifelong resident of Emmet County graduating from Estherville High School.
On April 4, 1958, Lois was united in marriage to Omer Quastad in Estherville. The couple made their home in rural Emmet County where they began raising their family and farmed. Along with being a full time mom and homemaker Lois also assisted Omer on the farm. In her leisure time Lois enjoyed gardening, crocheting and doing embroidery.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Estherville and also belonged to Midway Country Club (neighbor club).
Left to cherish Lois' memory are her children, Boyd (Dallas) Quastad of Estherville, Colleen Quastad of Wallingford, Jeff Quastad of Estherville, Kevin (Chris) Quastad of Estherville, Greg Quastad of Wallingford, Iowa, Diann (Mike Blomstrom) Minion of Estherville; Dennis (Trisha) Quastad of Estherville, Joel Quastad of Estherville; grandchildren, Alex, Levi, Ciara, Jett, Piper, Kyle, Carson and Easton; siblings, Delores Shorey, Ardis Pilquist, David (Katie) Larson and Barbara (George) Johnson.
Lois has been preceded in death by her husband, Omer; son, Brad; parents; brother, Maurice; sister, Arlene Zitterich and nephew, Bryan.
